The feature, which Apple calls Focus, tailors the sorts of messages that can reach you based on the context of what you’re doing. MacOS also provides new ways to control notifications and concentrate on the task at hand. As with iOS and iPadOS, Shortcuts can also be shared via links using the macOS share extensions. Examples of shortcuts from the Monterey preview page include creating a Split View with two apps, organizing your downloads folder, sending a photo to a group chat thread, and creating a meme. There is a Gallery of pre-built shortcuts to get started and an editor for chaining actions together. Shortcuts also integrates with other system-level automation tools on the Mac, allowing users to import Automator actions as shortcuts and use AppleScript and shell scripts too.įrom the limited material published so far, the Shortcuts experience on the Mac looks very similar to the iPhone and iPad. Not only is there a Shortcuts app for building your shortcuts that closely resembles the app’s iPad version, but they can be run from multiple parts of macOS, including the Dock, menu bar, and Finder, as well as Spotlight and Siri. With the ties between macOS and Apple’s other OSes becoming stronger than ever with the release of Big Sur last fall, Shortcuts felt like the logical next step and a way to provide users with a familiar environment for automating common computing tasks.Īpple has revealed actions to share files, make GIFs, and more. As Federico and I discussed on AppStories not long ago, this year felt like the year the automation app should finally make the leap from iPhones and iPads to the Mac. Shortcuts for MacĪs much as I’m eager to try Universal Control, though, I’m most excited about Shortcuts for Mac. A Mac can also extend the display of an iPhone or iPad (instead of just mirroring it) for apps that support the feature, like Keynote and Photos. The feature will allow music, photos and video, presentations, and even gameplay to be played on a Mac’s hardware from an iOS or iPadOS device both wirelessly and over a wire. During the keynote, Federighi dragged a graphic from an iPad Pro to an iMac, for instance.Īnother Continuity feature being added this year that I’ve wanted for a long time is AirPlay for Mac. As demonstrated during the keynote, content can be dragged from one device to another. There’s more to Universal Control than just the convenience of needing only one set of input devices, though. If it works flawlessly in practice, Universal Control could become a feature you don’t have to think about to use because, unlike Sidecar, for instance, it has hardly any UI. In the final portion of the demo, Federighi used a MacBook Pro’s trackpad to move among three devices, which is the feature’s limit. You can move from Mac to iPad and back, or even from Mac to Mac. With this fall’s update to macOS, Apple promises to take Continuity a step further, making moving between devices seamless with a feature called Universal Control.ĭemoed by Craig Federighi during the keynote, Universal Control allows users to take advantage of a single mouse, trackpad, or keyboard across multiple Macs and iPads. It’s been buggy at times, and it remains to be seen if Monterey addresses those issues, but its features are indispensable to me as someone who works across a Mac and iPad every day. I’m a heavy user of Continuity features on the Mac.

The following weekend he was back in L.A. Temperton went back to New York to work on the Heatwave album, and after hours, to finish writing lyrics and arrangements for the three Michael Jackson songs. Rod presented this song along with two others, and was shocked when Quincy Jones said he wanted to use all three, which would ultimately be called "Off the Wall" (the title cut for the album), "Burn this Disco Out," and the song that Heatwave turned down, "Rock with You." The song had no lyrics, just a melody, when Rod presented it to Quincy Jones. But it was a bit underdeveloped, and Heatwave passed on it. He had been fiddling with one song in particular for awhile, that he had originally hoped would appear on Heatwave’s Central Heating album. Temperton was known to always have dozens (if not hundreds) of unfinished songs in his book. on the weekend and would work on three songs to submit, hoping that Q would choose one for the album. But you don’t turn down Quincy Jones, and so Temperton agreed to fly out to L.A. However, Quincy was recording the album in L.A., while Rod was in the middle of recording Heatwave’s third album, Hot Property, day and night in New York. So Q approached Temperton to submit a song for Michael Jackson’s first “adult” LP, which Jones was about to produce. Ultimately, he was too busy to take on Heatwave, but he saw a gem of a songwriter in Temperton. Superproducer Quincy Jones had been an admirer of Heatwave and briefly talked about managing the band, as he did the Brothers Johnson. Called Too Hot To Handle, it included the huge international hits, "Boogie Nights" and "Always and Forever." They followed two years later with another hit album, Central Heating, and the charttopper, "The Groove Line." That band became the internationally popular band Heatwave, and Rod began writing tunes for the group's first album, which was eventually released in 1976. After moving to Wurms, Germany, he answered an ad in music paper Melody Maker from a band looking for a keyboard player. But he was drawn to music, his first love. Temperton was born in the small northern town of Cleethorpes in England and began his working life at a fish processor. But for today’s The Backstory, we tell about how a song he intended for his band languished for years until being selected as a key part of one of the most important albums in popular music history. As the keyboardist and songwriter for the uber-popular band, Heatwave, Temperton had firmly secured his place in music history. If you grew up in the 70s and 80s as a lover of soul music, Rod Temperton has a special place in your heart. More information about GIB and its use on BBO is available at the Bridge Base website here. We know the potential merits of robot bridge well, and we’ve written about the World Computer Bridge Championships before – check that out here. It was developed by software guru and card player Matt Ginsberg, and has been tweaked from there until it’s become the equivalent of Big Blue, the famed chess AI. The name is short for Ginsberg’s Intelligent Bridge Player – but also stands for Goren-in-a-Box. It’s considered to be one of the world’s best. The Robot Behind the Curtainīridge Base Online utilizes GIB as their default robot bridge player. It’s as great for regular players who want to practice as it is for anyone who wants to pick up the game for the first time. The terms “solitary” and “bridge” don’t often go together, and this is a great initiative to see. If it went badly, press refresh and try again. Once you’re done, you can view your score and the amount of won tricks. You can keep track of other players and their scores if they’re currently online. This makes it a great way to practice your game away from bidding. The ability of coyotes to communicate is a necessary element in their day-to-day affairs, especially their family life. Between pack members, they can be easily recognized by one another. When it comes to communicating vocally, a lot is going on there. The latter being their primary communication method among themselves. Other methods include scent marking and visual means through body language. This is the method that we are most familiar with. Obviously, they communicate through vocalizations. To convey specific intentions, coyotes communicate in several ways between each other and other members of the animal kingdom that they come across. They can even be confused with the sounds of certain owls. Notably, coyote sounds can often be confused with those of foxes, dogs, and wolves. Coyotes can be heard at any time of the day or night and can sometimes be confused with other animals. You can tell a lot about a coyote or a group of coyotes by listening. While this is not their only means of communicating, it is an important part of the dynamic between family members, transient coyotes, and other animals that they come in contact with. Related Questions What Does a Coyote Sound Like?Ĭoyotes make many different sounds to communicate including howling, yipping, yelping, woofs, and barks, as well as many others, depending on their mood and the circumstances. If you’re looking for a more traditional nude girl gallery that is nicely organized, I suggest checking out Coed Cherry or Elite Babes.Īlthough Scroller NSFW is certainly different than other sites, it doesn’t take long to get used to. For example, when I visited this site just now, I was shown several naughty amateur nudes, an eye-popping GIF, and even a couple of dirty comic strips. Of course, the downside to this is that you have zero control over what you’re shown. The entire point is to be shown a random collection of Reddit nudes. This is both a pro and a con for this site. A word to the wise– if you find a nude you really love, don’t refresh the page because it will probably disappear forever. Each time you click this tab, the results will be different. Once that’s done, you’ll be taken to a wonderland of scandalous Reddit nudes and videos. Or you can visit the homepage of the site and click the NSFW tab. In order to access the nudes on this site, I recommend typing “Scrolller NSFW” directly into your web browser or clicking the link that I’ve provided. This site is completely different from any of the nude girl galleries you know and love. So, if that sounds like your cup of tea, I highly recommend checking out this site, just for the thrill of it. It’s just Reddit nudes, all together in one place. It’s not organized or overly professional. I’ll tell you right now that this is not anything like the other nude girl galleries I’ve recommended. When you visit Scroller NSFW you’ll see a wild compilation of random nudes from Reddit. Of course, that means Scrolller has a complementary NSFW category as well. Reddit doesn’t restrict adult content, so it’s great for finding nudes. You can find anything from puppies to girls flashing the camera and everything in between. Now, if you’ve ever used Reddit before, and I highly recommend it, you probably know it is the wild west of the internet. Never fear, Scrolller has something wonderful to offer you in this department. Hence, the name “Scroller.”īut I know why you depraved, souls are on my site and it’s for raunchy nudes. If you’ve never heard of it, essentially the site takes images from the popular website Reddit and creates random compilations according to the theme.įor example, you can click on “Art” and you’ll be taken to a page with hundreds of art-related images to scroll through. Scrolller is a very unique website in and of itself. This deep pour resin is optimal for projects that require a thick pour. The epoxies I’m experienced in using are laminating epoxies. Any comments, questions, tips/tricks for this would be greatly appreciated.Ĭlick to expand.First, I’m not experienced in either type of epoxy, so my input should only be considered as part of a discussion rather than actual advice. I am planning on waiting until the casting epoxy is fully cured, and then I would sand the casting resin, and pour the table top epoxy on top to be able to achieve my desired thickness, but again, if this something that I’m able to do? I guess the only reason I initially thought that this may cause problems is because they are not only two different brands but they are two different kinds of epoxy (one is casting/deep pour and the other is table top as mentioned). This is where my questions arrives…I have table top epoxy ( ) that I could use for this second pour, however since I am a rookie, can someone clarify for me/let me know if I can pour table top epoxy over my 2” deep pour/casting epoxy? So, I obviously need to pour an additional pour to be able to achieve my desired thickness of 1/16” above my trim. With the amount that I used (4.5 Gallons), the resin is either dead even with the top of the trim, or in some cases, just below the top of the trim. It turns out that I did not purchase enough resin to do only one pour. The only issue is that I was planning to do only one pour, where I would pour enough resin that it would settle about 1/16” above the trim. For my first pour, I used 2” deep pour/casting resin ( ) which has seemed to work just fine (it is currently about halfway through the process of curing). I have glued, sealed, and placed a variety of chew cans (590 to be exact) which obviously takes up a lot of the volume. I have a table project going on with an 8’ X 4’ sheet of plywood, with about 15/16” height trim along the perimeter of the plywood sheet. |
